Upon completion in 2022, Shard Place marks the third phase of the 2.5 million sq ft regeneration of Shard Quarter in London Bridge, providing a mixed-use destination of commercial, retail, leisure and residential assets.

The development of Shard Place will significantly enhance the public realm, providing 13,000 sq ft for the general public to enjoy while connecting to The Shard, The News Building and London Bridge station. Due to the accessible transport link the large staircase taking passengers safely to London Bridge Station required a hard wearing and safe solution, AATi were appointed for their experience and company pedigree.

During the global COVID pandemic AATi manufactured an eight metre wide staircase in a unprecedented fashion, adhering to the everchanging safety guidelines set out by the Government. The staircase was fully cladded with AATi products in cast Nickel Bronze, carefully designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop (RPBW) comprising; AATi stair nosing SN3/SL3/307 accompanied with a bespoke contrasting riser plate ref: RP2/115 and landing plate ref: FP1/301.

AATi worked closely with various other trades to coordinate the design & installation of several other components including handrail balustrades, drainage grilles, wall cladding, ventilation and water proofing.
